Our 10 commitments

We have a clear sustainability strategy, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.

To make change happen and ensure it's rapid, continuous and meaningful, we've set up a clear roadmap.

This will guide us towards a sustainable future via touchpoint goals in 3 focus areas: our production, our solutions, our people and our communities.

Within these areas our ambitions are linked to 10 commitments, which in turn are associated to well-designed actions and projects!

Join us on the road to a sustainable future

As a leading supplier of sustainable indoor climate solutions and services, we help to heat and cool millions of buildings around the world.
This provides comfort for many, but also gives us a lot of responsibility. That's why we've set up a sustainability roadmap.
For greener production, better solutions, happier employees and stronger communities.

Our production

We constantly strive to improve our production and delivery processes, with a focus on performance and sustainability.

Limiting global warming to 1.5 °C is a challenge we must all rise to. For Purmo Group, this means, among other things, improving the way we make and deliver our products to enhance their performance and recyclability.

Our three commitments within production are:

Emissions and energy

We aim to achieve carbon neutrality in both our own greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1) and those of our supply chain (Scope 2 & 3). This goal applies to all our plants and operation sites.

Resource efficiency and waste

On top of finding ways to use fewer raw materials to make our products, we are pursuing circularity in our production processes. Furthermore, we are eliminating waste to landfill and reducing water consumption. In terms of packaging, we are switching to recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable materials wherever possible.

Responsible sourcing

By changing the way we source materials, such as steel, brass, plastic and packaging materials, we want to get a clean start for a greener production and delivery process. We are committed to a sustainable, responsible supply chain which respects our workers’ rights as well as reduces our carbon footprint.

Our solutions

We drive the market with environmentally friendly heating and cooling solutions that are easy to integrate.

Our two commitments with regard to the sustainability of our solutions are:

Climate-smart choices

As a leading supplier of indoor climate comfort solutions, we consider it our responsibility to help homeowners better manage their energy use. Our aim is to provide clear information about our efficient, circular and integrated systems as well as the lifetime environmental impact of all our products so that we can help our customers make informed choices.

Circularity and end of life

We will apply circular design principles to all our products in an effort to add sustainable and long-lasting value to our entire range. We are also investing in the creation of more circularity-focused solutions.

Our people and communities

We attach great importance to the well-being of our people and our communities. They are at the heart of how we run our business.

Purmo Group is more than the products we produce and the indoor climate solutions we offer. Purmo Group is also about the people who keep our company up and running every day. That’s why we’re asking our people to commit to sustainability solutions in all areas of their work. In return, we commit to them, for their prospects, well-being and happiness.

These are our 5 commitments to our people and our comunities worldwide:

Diversity, equality and inclusion

At Purmo Group we believe that a healthy business is both diverse and inclusive. That’s why we’re actively increasing the number of women in our senior management positions, bridging and eliminating pay gaps and creating a discrimination-free working culture.

Engagement at work

Employee input and involvement has enabled us to implement programmes focused on internal communication and feedback, learning and development, and health and wellbeing. We are continuously measuring employee engagement to ensure a healthy collaboration between all job levels and a sense of belonging.

Employee upskilling

To achieve our ambitions, our workforce needs to be future-fit and sufficiently trained. Therefore, all staff are attending relevant upskilling and reskilling programmes.
In addition, we have created a Sustainability Ideas Challenge to harness the knowledge and insight of our staff to generate sustainability-related ideas of all kinds from across the business.

Health and safety

Although we are well aware that manufacturing plants have a higher risk of accidents, we have a groupwide zero-accident target. Our health and safety strategy is based on a compliance-first approach to protect our people. Our training is ongoing, and our monitoring and reporting system tracks safety incidents and observations closely to ensure it’s constantly top of mind.

Community engagement

Energy poverty prevents many people from enjoying indoor climate comfort. We support the most vulnerable people in the areas where we operate so that they can become more climate resilient. We do so by donating our time as well as the products and services that can do the most good. On top of that, we engage in targeted levels of volunteering and charity work.
